About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead community engagement and communications efforts for LGBTQIA+ Affairs
- Build relationships with community organizations, advocacy groups, service providers, and partners
- Coordinate community meetings, listening sessions, public events, and outreach initiatives
- Draft newsletters, social media content, talking points, press materials, presentations, and website updates
- Support public awareness campaigns, cross-agency collaboration, and rapid response communications
- Maintain outreach tracking systems, stakeholder lists, and engagement reports
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree and 2 years of community work, or equivalent experience
- High school diploma and 6 years of community-centered experience, or equivalent
- At least 1 year of qualifying experience
- Strong communication and event coordination skills
- Cultural competence and commitment to equity-focused public engagement
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters
