About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to a first-year residential building of fewer than 325 students
- Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate student staff members
- Manage all aspects of residence hall operations, including building facilities and occupancy
- Oversee judicial, educational, and social outreach programming to support student development
- Respond to emergencies, behavioral concerns, and crisis situations with effective decision-making
- Foster a respectful residential environment through conflict resolution and mediation
- Collaborate with campus partners and agencies to provide academic and personal support to residents
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of counseling practices
- Strong administrative and supervisory skills
- Ability to work with, manage, and train large groups
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, or a related field
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Demonstrated commitment to a student development focus within a residential setting
- Experience with Residence Hall Association (RHA)
