Community Director

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to a first-year residential building of fewer than 325 students
• Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate student staff members
• Manage all aspects of residence hall operations, including building facilities and occupancy
• Oversee judicial, educational, and social outreach programming to support student development
• Respond to emergencies, behavioral concerns, and crisis situations with effective decision-making
• Foster a respectful residential environment through conflict resolution and mediation
• Collaborate with campus agencies and partners to provide academic and personal support to residents

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of counseling practices
• Strong administrative and supervisory skills
• Ability to work with, manage, and train large groups

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, or a related field
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Demonstrated commitment to a student development focus within a residential setting
• Experience with Residence Hall Association (RHA)
