Community Director

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe, welcoming, and engaging residential living-learning environment for 130–170 students
• Directly supervise, mentor, and train Community Advisors (CAs)
• Support student development through mentorship, educational initiatives, and restorative practices
• Serve as a crisis responder and advocate for students within the residential community
• Collaborate with campus partners to promote leadership opportunities and academic success
• Participate in an on-call duty rotation, including evening and weekend responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least one year of experience working in a residence hall
• Knowledge of student development theory and best practices in student affairs
• Proficiency with Google Suite software
• Strong administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Residential Curriculum models
• Experience with motivational interviewing
• Familiarity with ACUHO-I Standards and CA Standards
• Knowledge of NASPA Learning Reconsidered
