About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate proposed community development projects and implement neighborhood plans to meet City redevelopment goals
- Process applications and grant awards for assigned projects and programs
- Prepare and monitor contracts while providing technical assistance to agencies regarding project development and compliance
- Write and review rehabilitation specifications, prepare bid packages, and monitor construction activities
- Oversee construction work, approve activities, and authorize associated payments
- Conduct research and financial analysis to assist in preparing grant applications, budgets, and project completion reports
- Manage departmental budgets, financial systems, purchase orders, and personnel information
- Prepare periodic and annual progress reports for all assigned projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Urban Studies, or an equivalent accredited field
- Valid driver's license (must be maintained throughout employment)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and provide evidence of employment authorization and identity
- Successful completion of a job-related medical examination, including a drug screen
- Ability to pass a nicotine screening (newly hired employees must remain tobacco and nicotine free)
