About the role

Responsibilities

  • Monitor access and security of the Community Residential Facility (CRF) to maintain a calm and secure atmosphere
  • Conduct regular facility rounds, bed checks, and monitor resident sign-in/out sheets
  • Enforce in-house rules and parole conditions in strict adherence to policy and the Statement of Work
  • Maintain accurate records, including duty logs, medication access logs, and incident documentation
  • Communicate effectively with Parole, the National Monitoring Centre (NMC), and Police regarding incidents
  • Ensure confidentiality of all clients and maintain professional interactions with residents
  • Perform light janitorial duties and assist with intake office organization as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Criminal record clearance through the BC Criminal Records Review Program
  • Security clearance through Correctional Services Canada (CSC)
  • Clear TB Skin Test
  • Computer literacy and adequate typing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and utilize de-escalation techniques in crisis situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary coursework in criminology, sociology, or a related field
  • Experience working with mental health issues or using de-escalation techniques
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Valid WHMIS certificate
