About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of day-to-day logistical components of the residential life program, focusing on student well-being and safety.
- Provide transportation for students using JAX-provided vans, including scheduled shuttles to and from work, shopping, and entertainment.
- Organize group outings and activities, providing transportation every other weekend.
- Maintain rapport and informal communication with students to identify individual needs and challenges.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and biweekly community meals.
- Triage student questions and concerns while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the Residential Supervisor and Program Director to foster programmatic harmony.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must hold a valid US driver's license and be able to transport groups of students in a van.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Availability to work seasonally from May to August.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prior experience as a residential life staffer in a college or university setting.
- Experience serving as a peer mentor, teacher, or organizing recreational programs.
- Recent or near college graduate pursuing a career or higher education in a STEM field.
