Community and Family Services Worker

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intake and assessments to determine immediate needs and required supports
• Assist with food and toy donation pick-ups from community donors
• Process, unload, sort, and restock food and toy donations for the Family Services program
• Maintain food bank stock, cleanliness, and organization of the facility
• Maintain accurate client records in Link2Feed and other computer systems while ensuring confidentiality
• Provide supervision for children participating in camp programs
• Adhere to all health, safety, and public health standards regarding food handling and facility maintenance

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary community college or university program
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
• Ability to pass a vulnerable sector check
• Possession of or willingness to obtain Safe Food Handlers Certification
• Knowledge of barriers faced by disenfranchised populations, including those experiencing poverty or homelessness

Preferred Qualifications

• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate
