Communications Technician 4, Network Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Perform routine plant maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fiber optic and coaxial networks.
• Isolate and resolve fiber optic signal impairments for HFC and EPON networks.
• Conduct construction maintenance, including splicing aerial/underground coaxial cable and replacing power supplies.
• Respond to service interruptions, outages, and damage scenarios during regular hours, shifts, or on-call rotations.
• Use software and application-based tools to troubleshoot analog and digital optics.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure readiness for daily tasks.
• Comply with all safety procedures, including NEC, NESC, OSHA, and DOT regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Minimum of 12 months of experience in cable telecommunications, broadband, or a similar field.
• Ability to lift and carry loads of 70 lbs or more.
• Ability to climb ladders and operate aerial lifts up to 34 feet above ground.
• Ability to work in inclement weather and stand for 50-70% of the workday.
• Availability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
