Communications Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication plans to support organizational goals for an international drug discovery research initiative
• Translate complex scientific concepts into engaging content for web, social media, presentations, and reports
• Create and coordinate internal and external communication materials, including storytelling and impact stories
• Support media relations, outreach initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities
• Plan and coordinate the delivery of virtual and in-person events, such as webinars, workshops, and scientific meetings
• Maintain project website content, digital assets, and online communication platforms
• Monitor and analyze communication metrics to improve outreach effectiveness
• Collaborate with researchers and scientific leadership to ensure consistent messaging across diverse audiences

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in a scientific discipline relevant to biomedical research, drug discovery, or life sciences
• Minimum 5 years of experience in science communications, outreach, or public engagement
• Exceptional writing and editing skills for diverse audiences and platforms
• Experience managing social media accounts and digital content
• Proficiency in SharePoint, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
• Skilled in graphic design and multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva)
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a relevant scientific field
