About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication plans to support organizational goals for an international drug discovery research initiative
- Translate complex scientific concepts into engaging content for web, social media, presentations, and reports
- Create and coordinate internal and external communication materials, including storytelling and impact stories
- Support media relations, outreach initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities
- Plan and coordinate the delivery of virtual and in-person events, such as webinars, workshops, and scientific meetings
- Maintain project website content, digital assets, and online communication platforms
- Monitor and analyze communication metrics to improve outreach effectiveness
- Collaborate with researchers and scientific leadership to ensure consistent messaging across diverse audiences
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in a scientific discipline relevant to biomedical research, drug discovery, or life sciences
- Minimum 5 years of experience in science communications, outreach, or public engagement
- Exceptional writing and editing skills for diverse audiences and platforms
- Experience managing social media accounts and digital content
- Proficiency in SharePoint, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
- Skilled in graphic design and multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant scientific field
