Communications Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing PR and communications support, including inbound and outbound media relations and proactive pitching
• Develop and maintain relationships with relevant reporters and editors
• Draft and edit PR materials such as press releases, pitches, media briefings, messaging, and presentations
• Build trusted advisor relationships with partners and key stakeholders in assigned practice areas
• Prepare stakeholders for media engagement by developing briefings, key messages, and talking points
• Assist senior communications team members with issues management and oversight of external PR agencies
• Oversee the production and distribution of daily press recaps regarding global media coverage
• Monitor industry trends and the media landscape to identify potential media opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of communications experience
• Proven knowledge of media relations and the ability to build and maintain strong media relationships
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in legal or professional services, or a similar B2B environment
• Experience working in a PR agency
• Existing legal media relationships
