About the role

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all emergency codes and alarms according to departmental policies
  • Activate key responders for emergency events and perform 911 calls to outside emergency services when required
  • Monitor security radio channels and respond to requests from key responders
  • Document and record all codes and code testing in the appropriate format
  • Provide locating services for senior administrators, physicians, and medical personnel
  • Use computerized paging applications to activate long-range pagers and mobile devices
  • Operate telephone equipment to answer, screen, and connect internal and external calls
  • Maintain application databases by entering, verifying, and updating information
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality and protect sensitive operations

Requirements

  • Completion of a 2-year community college program
  • 2 to 3 years of practical and related experience
  • Proven typing skill of at least 40 WPM
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, including pronunciation and spelling
  • Proficiency in navigating and using various Windows-based applications
  • Excellent oral comprehension and expression skills
  • Ability to make quick, accurate decisions under high pressure and stressful conditions
