About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate air and land patient transportation, including neonatal and organ retrievals
  • Determine appropriate resource selection based on geographical location and patient care needs
  • Communicate effectively with pilots, paramedics, physicians, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency calls in a fast-paced environment
  • Analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and execute operational plans

Requirements

  • 2 years of aviation or dispatch experience (e.g., Systems Operations Control Centre, Land EMS, or Air Traffic Control)
  • Restricted Operator Certificate – Aeronautical (ROC-A)
  • Standard First-Aid/CPR/AED Level C Certificate (valid for at least 24 months from hire)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system software
  • Ability to work flexible shifts in a 24/7, 365-day operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognized education in aviation management/operations or an emergency telecommunication certificate
  • Technical knowledge of air or land ambulance transfer systems
  • Knowledge of the provincial ambulance system and emergency services communications
