About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage all communication activities for the College of Engineering, including news storytelling and strategic planning
  • Research, develop, and create news and feature stories through internal interviews and original reporting
  • Develop comprehensive communication plans in collaboration with senior management
  • Act as a project manager to oversee communication objectives, materials, and implementation
  • Outline video needs and messaging for primary story delivery and supporting content
  • Oversee vendors involved in production and distribution, and potentially supervise staff
  • Write diverse content including press releases, pitch documents, fact sheets, web content, and magazine stories
  • Assess the effectiveness of communication campaigns and incorporate stakeholder feedback for improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field
  • 5-8 years of relevant professional experience
  • Successful completion of a background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in communications or a related field
  • Proven experience in relationship building and vendor management
  • Strong project management skills
