About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage all communication activities for the College of Engineering, including news storytelling and strategic planning
- Research, develop, and create news and feature stories through internal interviews and original reporting
- Develop comprehensive communication plans in collaboration with senior management
- Act as a project manager to oversee communication objectives, materials, and implementation
- Outline video needs and messaging for primary story delivery and supporting content
- Oversee vendors involved in production and distribution, and potentially supervise staff
- Write diverse content including press releases, pitch documents, fact sheets, web content, and magazine stories
- Assess the effectiveness of communication campaigns and incorporate stakeholder feedback for improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field
- 5-8 years of relevant professional experience
- Successful completion of a background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in communications or a related field
- Proven experience in relationship building and vendor management
- Strong project management skills
