Communications/DSP Intern

Responsibilities

• Design signal processing for custom software defined radio hardware, including channelization, equalization, PA linearization, and carrier synchronization
• Work closely with FPGA developers to implement and test signal processing on radio hardware
• Model end-to-end radio systems from earth to space and back
• Drive radio architecture trade studies, run link budgets, and optimize radio systems for various global markets and use cases

Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in signals and systems (transforms, filters, aliasing, interpolation, decimation, etc.)
• Strong fundamentals in digital communications (modulation, coding, synchronization, fading, Doppler, etc.)
• Familiarity with software development (experience writing software for DSP, MCU, or FPGA, and scripting languages)
• Familiarity with analog concepts (amplifiers, analog filters, gain/delay variation, etc.)
• Experience using signal analysis equipment (signal generator, signal analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.)
• US Citizenship or Green Card required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with software defined radios
• Proficiency with Python
• Experience with GNU Radio
• Experience with FPGA development or embedded C
