About the role
Responsibilities
- Process incoming mail by picking up, sorting, and arranging mail for various offices and departments
- Manage outgoing mail by sorting by department or zip code, metering postage, and delivering to the Post Office
- Prepare, label, and weigh packages for courier services
- Maintain the mailroom vehicle, including refueling and cleaning as necessary
- Perform light computer tasks such as document updates and scanning
- Provide general clerical support and office assistance to the Communications Department and Commissioners’ Office as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- At least two years of successful office experience
- Basic computer skills
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in county government
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience with mail processing, including postage metering and package weighing
