About the role
Responsibilities
- Process incoming mail by picking up, sorting, and arranging mail for various County offices and individuals
- Manage outgoing mail by sorting by department or zip code, metering postage, and delivering to the Post Office
- Prepare packages for courier services, including proper labeling, weighing, and documentation
- Operate mailroom equipment and maintain accurate records of postage expenses
- Perform mailroom vehicle duties, including refueling and cleaning the department vehicle
- Provide general clerical support such as scanning, document updates, filing, and assisting other departments as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- At least two years of successful office experience
- Proficiency with basic computer skills
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- Proof of automobile insurance
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in County government
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
- Direct experience in mail processing, including postage metering and package weighing
