Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of compelling communications that showcase the impact of marine science research
  • Create engaging content across various channels including feature articles, news stories, digital platforms, and multimedia products
  • Translate complex scientific information into accessible, audience-focused stories to drive engagement
  • Work closely with researchers, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen reputation and influence

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, media, or related discipline
  • Substantial experience in journalistic writing, storytelling, and content development
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with digital communications channels including websites, social media, and CMS
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Valid "C" class driver’s licence
