Communication Manager

Responsibilities

• Build and own Proton's media relationships in North America, focusing on journalists, editors, podcast hosts, and newsletter writers
• Expand coverage beyond tech press into new media formats like YouTube and video journalism
• Tell Proton's story regarding scale, mission, and the importance of privacy alternatives
• Respond to media inquiries regarding product, policy, and reputation
• Support presence at conferences and secure speaking slots for representatives
• Collaborate with the global communications team on product launches and policy campaigns

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in PR, communications, or media relations
• Proven success in pitching and placing stories
• Existing relationships with journalists or a track record of building them quickly
• Deep familiarity with the US media landscape, including podcasts and newsletters
• Strong command of technology and privacy topics
• Ability to work as a natural networker and relationship builder

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with or for a European company in the US market
• Existing relationships with journalists covering privacy, technology, or policy
• Experience with policy communications or regulatory environments
