Communication Electronics Installation Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, align, and troubleshoot VHF/UHF radios and associated communication systems
• Integrate infrastructure including grounding, cabling, fiber optics, and radio racks
• Mount antennas and run/terminate coaxial and other communication cabling
• Perform electronics testing, baseline readings, and generate required FAA documentation
• Read and interpret engineering diagrams, blueprints, and electrical wiring schematics
• Interface with FAA Air Traffic and Technical Operations personnel during installations
• Support installation and construction crews in the field across various environments

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain a federal security clearance
• Associate's Degree or technical certification in a relevant field
• 2+ years of relevant experience in communications electronics installation
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and climb to heights exceeding 60 feet
• Ability to travel 100% across the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Time-Domain Reflectometers, or Signal Generators
• Familiarity with FAA National Airspace (NAS) communications systems
• Experience with microwave, voice switch, or Air Traffic Control systems
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and trailer experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment
