Commodity Buyer - Semiconductors

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic and operational purchasing activities for assigned semiconductor commodities and a global supplier portfolio
• Lead supplier negotiations, RFQs, and competitive sourcing activities to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Collaborate with Commodity Management, Engineering, Quality, and Operations on sourcing strategies and product launches
• Analyze market trends, cost structures, and benchmarking data to drive sustainable cost improvements
• Manage and develop suppliers, including handling escalations for quality and delivery issues
• Maintain pricing accuracy, contracts, and negotiation documentation within SAP

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a comparable field
• 6–8 years of professional experience in commodity purchasing or technical purchasing within an industrial or automotive environment
• Proficiency in SAP is required
• Strong expertise in supplier evaluation, cost analysis, and complex negotiation processes
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience in the semiconductor industry
• Experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
• Additional language skills beyond English
