Commodity Buyer

Responsibilities

• Lead the supplier selection process and manage supplier contracts from creation through execution
• Support project management for the Civil Works commodity and consolidate project needs
• Contribute to commodity strategy and supplier panel development
• Negotiate with top-tier suppliers in complex and challenging environments
• Monitor procurement project QCDT and legal project evolution
• Ensure on-time delivery and quality, particularly during ramp-up phases
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while fostering innovation and performance improvements
• Manage supplier risks and implement mitigation plans
• Promote Alstom’s Code of Ethics and ensure adherence to ethical procurement practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Engineering, or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of industry experience, with at least three years in purchasing roles
• Technical expertise and market knowledge of Civil Works or subcontractor management preferred
• Experience in managing Subcontractor on-site activity
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
• Experience working in a matrix environment and collaborating across functions
• Procurement experience in a Project environment
• Proficiency in negotiation and strategic vision development
• Fluency in English with an international mindset
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as GSI or ARIBA
• Results-oriented mindset
