Commodities Inspector

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical inspection, sampling, gauging, and temperature measurements of vessel tanks, shore tanks, rail cars, barges, containers, and trucks
• Collect samples of petroleum, grains, food oils, chemicals, and raw minerals
• Ensure all samples are accurately labeled with identifying data
• Supervise and verify the loading and tallying of agricultural and mineral commodities
• Complete inspection reports and documentation using proprietary systems
• Maintain, clean, and organize all inspection and sampling equipment
• Follow all local, federal, and company safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
• Collaborate with clients, vessel personnel, and government agents

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass applicable certification exams and training programs
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
• Willingness to work in varied environments such as ports, terminals, and labs
• Ability to lift, carry, and operate sampling and testing equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
