Commissioning Technician, Switchboard

Responsibilities

• Carry out startup, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of large-scale industrial LV switchboards (3200-6200A 415Vac), primarily for data center projects.
• Investigate site issues and breakdowns to perform necessary repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks for LV switchgear panels, including ACBs and MCCBs.
• Prepare all necessary tools, test equipment, and site documentation for project and maintenance activities.
• Interface with clients, sub-contractors, and internal departments to ensure project milestones are met.
• Manage site-related paperwork and ensure documentation is signed off and uploaded to client portals.
• Adhere to all WHS procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and safe isolation practices.

Requirements

• Unrestricted electrical licence (mandatory).
• Valid White Card and Driver's licence.
• Electrical Engineering background.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical drawings and control systems.
• Competency in primary and secondary injection testing.
• Competency in flash testing.
• Experience with electrical panel testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work on-site and travel as required, including some remote travel.
