Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Support project delivery and implementation for mechanical commissioning assignments in data centre and building infrastructure projects
• Conduct third-party commissioning witness and verification activities for mechanical systems, equipment, procedures, checklists and test records
• Review mechanical commissioning plans, method statements, inspection and test plans, and project documentation
• Witness and verify testing for HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, ventilation, plumbing, and fire protection
• Monitor QA/QC and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and safety requirements
• Prepare commissioning witness reports, observation records, punch list items, and non-conformity findings
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to support troubleshooting, handover, and operational readiness
• Identify commissioning issues, defects, and safety concerns, tracking closure and escalating risks
• Support the development of SGS commissioning templates, checklists, and service delivery methodologies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
• More than 7 years of engineering-related experience
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on data centre commissioning experience
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, and fire protection
• Experience in commissioning witness, inspection, testing, and QA/QC documentation
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time to customer sites and project locations
