Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist with design reviews for Power, Power Delivery, and Renewable projects
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for electrical equipment including MV/LV switchgears, transformers, and relay panels
• Develop electrical initial energization procedures for switchyards, back-feeds, and initial synchronization
• Travel to project sites as needed to conduct audits, review energization plans, and assist with major energization milestones
• Support onsite startup activities and work closely with the project commissioning team

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in Power Plants, Substations, or Renewable Energy
• Familiarity with protective relays, electrical control, and protection schemes
• Knowledge of NETA and IEEE testing standards
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E and ability to demonstrate safe electrical troubleshooting skills
• Commitment to promoting a culture of safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with component testing for 220KV/345KV breakers and generator circuit breakers
• Familiarity with MV & LV Switchgears, MCCs, CTs, PTs, and CVTs
• Ability to interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and control/protection schematics
