Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide expert commissioning support for LV electrical systems, control and automation, and PLC and SCADA installations.
• Manage and complete commissioning documentation including FAT, SAT, outage management plans, and ITPs.
• Lead reliability and performance testing stages and conduct fault finding with the supply chain.
• Oversee system configuration for MCC and ICA equipment.
• Review electrical schematics, control philosophies, I/O schedules, and communications network architecture drawings.
• Represent Kier at client meetings and liaise with Thames Water commissioning representatives.
• Conduct technical reviews of electrical risk assessments and method statements to ensure safe working practices.

Requirements

• HNC in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering (or a similar discipline).
• Proven experience in ICA engineering.
• Technical knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and Profibus networks.
• Understanding of SCADA software platforms and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet IP).
• Knowledge of WIMES and UK water industry standards.
• Full driving licence.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in multi-discipline teams.
