About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute instrumentation pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications and international codes (ISA, IEC).
  • Review and verify loop drawings, P&IDs, control philosophies, and logic diagrams to ensure design compliance.
  • Perform loop-checking, functional testing, calibration, and configuration of smart transmitters, control valves, and final control elements.
  • Supervise subcontractor teams during instrument installation verification, signal testing, and system energization.
  • Interface with DCS, ESD, F&G, SCADA, and PLC vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless system integration.
  • Manage commissioning dossiers, as-built markups, and punch list closures for final client handover.
  • Adhere strictly to HSE and Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures in hazardous areas.
  • Coordinate with Electrical and Mechanical teams for integrated system and sub-system level testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control or Electronics Engineering.
  • 10–12 years of experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning of instrumentation systems within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of instrument calibration, control system architecture, and DCS/PLC/ESD/F&G integration.
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, I/O lists, and Logic Diagrams.
  • Familiarity with ADNOC, Shell, or Aramco commissioning standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ADNOC-approved or equivalent vendor/systems training (e.g., Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa, ABB, or Siemens).
  • Experience working with EPC/PMC contractors at ADNOC sites.
  • Exposure to digital instrumentation, asset management systems (AMS), and fieldbus technologies (HART/FOUNDATION Fieldbus).
