Commissioning Engineer (Electrical)

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and execute electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in accordance with project procedures, ADNOC standards, and IEC codes.
• Conduct inspection, testing, and energization of electrical systems including transformers, switchgear (LV/MV/HV), MCCs, motors, UPS, and earthing systems.
• Perform insulation resistance, continuity, functional, and interlock testing while maintaining accurate test records.
• Review single line diagrams, control schematics, cable schedules, and electrical layouts to ensure commissioning readiness.
• Coordinate with design, construction, and instrumentation teams to manage system completion and punch list closure.
• Ensure safe energization of equipment following company and ADNOC Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.
• Supervise subcontractor commissioning teams to ensure compliance with project safety and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical system faults and prepare commissioning reports, test packs, and turnover documentation.
• Manage high-voltage switching operations and integrated testing with PLC/DCS systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 10–12 years of experience in electrical commissioning within the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or Petrochemical sectors.
• Proficiency in electrical testing procedures, including primary/secondary injection and relay configuration.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and ADNOC electrical standards.
• Experience with high-voltage switching and system energization.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• ADNOC-approved certification or equivalent in commissioning or HV/LV safety.
• Recognized training in Electrical Safety, Lockout–Tagout (LOTO), and PTW systems.
• Experience working with EPC or PMC contractors on ADNOC, QP, or Aramco projects.
• Familiarity with SCADA integration and commissioning tracking software.
• Proficiency with electrical testing tools such as OMICRON or Doble software.
