About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end commissioning lifecycle for large industrial chiller units across mission-critical facilities and data centers.
- Develop and execute electrical, mechanical, and total system test scripts (L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks).
- Coordinate with Service Operations and Project Management teams to schedule commissioning and start-up activities.
- Conduct facility walkthroughs, punch list reviews, and QA/QC of equipment installation and testing.
- Prepare and submit technical test results, daily status reports, and commissioning documentation to customers.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and schedule adherence.
- Mentor junior engineers and graduates through on-site guidance and knowledge sharing.
- Champion a safety-first culture, adhering to protocols for energized electrical equipment and live refrigerant lines.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, OR a Mechanical Trade Certificate with a Restricted Electrical Licence.
- 5+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical facility commissioning.
- Extensive technical expertise in the chiller industry and large industrial chiller systems.
- Valid Refrigerant Handling Licence.
- Current Work at Heights certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Driver's Licence and ability to travel across ANZ, including overnight stays.
- Strong knowledge of BMS integration, controls, and networking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Vertiv mechanical equipment such as XDUs, FWUs, and CRAC/CRAH product ranges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
