Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
• Review design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and vendor submittals
• Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and manage third-party commissioning vendors
• Perform onsite pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing
• Manage commissioning for systems such as medium/low voltage power, generators, UPS, HVAC, and BMS
• Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
• Provide weekly reporting on project status and communicate lessons learned to improve program quality

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning experience with electrical and mechanical systems
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or 5 years of relevant discipline work experience)
• High technical competency in critical infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, or controls)
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability and willingness to travel domestic and internationally for up to 25% of the year
• Ability to perform physical tasks in various environments, including walking uneven terrain and working at heights

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures
• Experience developing and executing test procedures based on design intent
• Ability to read and edit complex construction documents and control diagrams
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain calm in high-stress environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
