About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and technical expertise for commissioning and startup of high-voltage electrical and instrumented systems for large-scale industrial capital projects.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on integrated electrical, instrument, and controls commissioning design and planning.
- Support field technicians with relay programming, motor starting, equipment issues, and interpretation of installation drawings and safety codes.
- Provide guidance on the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of instrumented systems.
- Develop electrical construction packages and E&I contracting strategies.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), equipment acceptance testing, and functional testing procedures with vendors.
- Manage and mentor the company's qualified electrical and instrument technician competency programs.
- Execute and review high-voltage energy isolations (HVEIC).
Requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree is required.
- Minimum of 15 years of high voltage electrical field, design, and engineering experience.
- Proven experience in electrical construction management, acceptance testing, and equipment energization.
- Familiarity with instrument construction management, loop checking, and controls commissioning.
- Ability to travel approximately 35-60% to active sites and project locations.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and team leadership.
