Commis/Senior Chef

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables and fruits
• Follow recipes and cooking guidelines to ensure food meets quality, consistency, and presentation standards
• Prepare various dishes such as salads, sauces, and specialty recipes as directed
• Cook diverse cuisines including Chinese dishes like dim sum, BBQ, and wok items for buffet and à la carte services
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain clean, organized workstations following hygiene guidelines
• Assist with receiving deliveries, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and stock rotation (FIFO)
• Perform routine tasks such as temperature checks and scheduled cleaning to maintain a safe kitchen environment
• Collaborate with the culinary team to meet daily production needs and provide high-quality dining experiences

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
• Full-time availability, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
• Proficiency in English, Cantonese, or Mandarin
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work with speed, accuracy, and efficiency under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant experience in a sizeable company or mass production kitchen
• Extensive culinary experience will be considered for senior positions
