About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Participate in food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Assist in the proper storage and labeling of food items
- Support senior chefs in plating and presenting dishes
- Contribute to kitchen inventory management and stock rotation
- Participate in cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and facilities
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen setting
- Fluency in English
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- HACCP knowledge
- Culinary education or relevant certifications
