Commis Chef

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality culinary offerings to delight guests
• Conduct food preparation and cooking duties ensuring menu items meet recipe and quality standards
• Arrange, prepare, and break down buffet and food displays while maintaining high presentation standards
• Follow workplace hygiene procedures (HACCP) and maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen environment
• Work effectively within a team to promote a positive working environment and provide excellent service
• Report any issues affecting kitchen operations immediately to the Sous Chef

Requirements

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Experience in high-volume kitchen operations
• Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Knowledge of food safety standards and guest dietary requirements (allergies and intolerances)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow verbal instructions accurately
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
