Commis Chef

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily food preparation, mise en place, and basic cooking tasks
• Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and presentation standards accurately
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations at all times
• Support senior chefs during service to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients to maintain freshness
• Adhere to hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP standards
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when required
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef or kitchen assistant preferred
• Strong interest in culinary arts and a willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Passion, discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement
