About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes as directed by the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie
- Follow established cooking procedures and techniques in line with health, safety, and food hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Support dishwashing and general cleaning duties during and after service
- Ensure proper food storage practices, including correct labeling and safe handling
- Perform basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, portioning, and mise en place
- Support the kitchen team during peak service periods
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation
- Knowledge of food safety principles
- Previous experience in a kitchen or cooking role is an advantage
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
