Commis Chef

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily breakfast service by preparing, cooking, and presenting all components to required standards
• Assist with lunch service, including food preparation, plating, and maintaining service pace
• Complete dinner preparation tasks, including mise en place, portioning, and kitchen setup
• Maintain a clean, compliant kitchen station adhering to Food Safety Management Plans and HACCP procedures
• Support Pontoon Hosts with coffee preparation and table service when required to ensure a seamless guest experience

Requirements

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or currently enrolled)
• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment
• Barista experience
• QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021)
• Food Safety Supervision Skill Set (SITSS00069)
• First Aid, CPR & O2 certification (HLTAID011)
• Blue Card - Working with Children Check QLD
• Elements of Shipboard Safety
• National Police Check

Preferred Qualifications

• A genuine passion for hospitality and a strong desire to learn under experienced culinary mentors
• Ability to thrive in a close-knit team within an isolated offshore environment
• Reliability and self-motivation to perform consistently on an 8-day on, 6-day off swing roster
