About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform various kitchen duties including meal preparation in line with brand standards
- Ensure consistency and continuity in delivering excellent service to guests
- Implement and maintain cost containment measures to achieve financial controls
- Administer compliance with Food Health & Safety audit standards
- Adhere to Disaster Management and Occupational Health and Safety standards
- Utilize all operating equipment correctly according to user manuals
- Maintain the highest level of cleanliness and presentation for all guests
- Complete all operational and legislative training for standard operating procedures
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- National Certificate (Vocational) in Hospitality or CATHSSETA Professional Cookery (NQF Level 4)
- Minimum 1 year of culinary experience in a formally brigaded kitchen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, food safety, and occupational health and safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher Certificate in Food & Beverage Operations Management (NQF Level 5)
- Culinary related Diploma
