About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform various kitchen duties including meal preparation in line with brand standards
  • Ensure consistency and continuity in delivering excellent service to guests
  • Implement and maintain cost containment measures to achieve financial controls
  • Administer compliance with Food Health & Safety audit standards
  • Adhere to Disaster Management and Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • Utilize all operating equipment correctly according to user manuals
  • Maintain the highest level of cleanliness and presentation for all guests
  • Complete all operational and legislative training for standard operating procedures

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • National Certificate (Vocational) in Hospitality or CATHSSETA Professional Cookery (NQF Level 4)
  • Minimum 1 year of culinary experience in a formally brigaded kitchen
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, food safety, and occupational health and safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher Certificate in Food & Beverage Operations Management (NQF Level 5)
  • Culinary related Diploma
