Commercial Transportation Trainer - Range & Road

Responsibilities

• Serve as an instructional leader in the classroom, on the driving range, in the yard, and on the road
• Implement training procedures outlined in the Commercial Transportation Center standard operating manual
• Evaluate student progress, skills, and learning in accordance with program curriculum and objectives
• Schedule and conduct yard/road training, as well as CDL and DOT testing
• Maintain accurate student records, daily log books, and classroom attendance in compliance with State of Ohio regulations
• Monitor equipment needs, assist with scheduling maintenance, inspections, and repairs
• Assist with the upkeep of training grounds, including pothole repair, sweepings, and snow removal
• Coordinate with adjunct faculty trainers to ensure adequate coverage based on training volume

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Three years of experience driving a Class A commercial motor vehicle
• Valid Class A CDL License
• State of Ohio Commercial Instructors License
• Completion of 40 hours of pre-service training
• Ability to pass a drug screen and physical examination

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous professional training or instructional experience
• College-level coursework
