About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the technical strategy across a portfolio of Commercial accounts in Sydney
  • Partner with Account Executives to develop territory plans, account strategies, and opportunity plans
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior IT and business stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover business, operational, and risk-based challenges
  • Translate customer requirements into solution architectures aligned to business outcomes
  • Lead and execute proof-of-concepts (POCs), pilots, and technical demonstrations
  • Enable and support channel and alliance partners across the ANZ region
  • Provide field insights to product and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the software, cloud, or data management industry
  • 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales or Sales Engineering role supporting Commercial customers
  • Proven experience working with Commercial accounts in Australia
  • Strong understanding of data management (backup, recovery, replication, compliance)
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, including hybrid environments
  • Proficiency in infrastructure technologies including storage, compute, networking, and hypervisors
  • Ability to travel across the ANZ region (approximately 30–50%)
  • Must be based in Sydney, Australia

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience with sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Challenger, or TAS
  • Familiarity with modern licensing models including SaaS and subscription-based services
  • Experience with enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft 365
