About the Company

Ownwell helps property owners reduce the costs of owning real estate. Our proprietary software automatically identifies property owners who are overpaying on real estate expenses, managing the end-to-end process of reducing bills through tax appeals, exemptions, and corrections.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate CRE properties across many geographies for appeal with an eye for innovation and automation
• Support operations in onboarding new clients and filing appeals
• Manage the appeal process through informal discussions, formal ARB Hearings, arbitration, and litigation
• Act as a jurisdictional subject matter expert for commercial property taxes
• Collaborate with sales and marketing to pitch and demonstrate value to potential clients
• Partner with engineering to improve software and automation in the appeal pipeline
• Work with client success to provide best-in-class service and results

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial property tax
• Strong working knowledge of property tax laws and regulations
• Deep understanding of real estate valuation methodologies and jurisdictional tax codes
• Experience with high-value Commercial Tax Appeals or a Commercial Tax Firm
• Experience filing business personal property renditions and handling property tax protests
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or real estate

Preferred Qualifications

• Appraisal experience with professional designations like MAI, CCIM, or CMI
