Commercial Property Tax Consultant

Responsibilities

• Oversee property tax appeals on a portfolio of commercial properties through the administrative process
• Evaluate CRE properties for appeal opportunities with an eye for automation
• Prepare and file annual business personal property renditions across various jurisdictions
• Analyze client fixed-asset schedules and depreciation to ensure correct classification
• Pursue BPP exemptions such as Freeport, goods-in-transit, and pollution control
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, engineering, and client success teams
• Act as a jurisdictional subject matter expert on commercial property taxes

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial property tax with an emphasis on BPP
• Strong knowledge of property tax laws and BPP regulations
• Deep understanding of real estate valuation methodologies
• Experience with high-value Commercial Tax Appeals or a Commercial Tax Firm
• Experience filing business personal property renditions and handling protests
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or real estate

Preferred Qualifications

• Appraisal experience with professional designations like MAI, CCIM, or CMI
