Commercial Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function for Hyperscale Data Centre projects, overseeing financial, contractual, and procurement activities.
• Develop commercial, procurement, and contracting strategies to support project planning and cost modelling.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, consultants, and vendors, including overseeing variations and claims.
• Manage project budgets, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting while monitoring cash flow.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks to ensure compliance with legal and governance requirements.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide strategic commercial advice.
• Lead and develop high-performing commercial teams to foster a culture of accountability and excellence.

Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial management experience within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in construction projects, ideally within data centres or mission-critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian construction regulations, procurement frameworks, and approval processes.
• Advanced expertise in contract administration and financial management.
• Proficiency in commercial and project management systems, specifically Aconex and Procore.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as MRICS, PMP, or AIQS.
• Experience working with principal contractors or in client-side commercial leadership roles.
