Commercial Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies to optimize financial performance and project profitability
• Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements in compliance with FIDIC and local standards
• Manage contract administration, including claims, variations, and extensions of time (EOT)
• Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting, cash flow management, and interim valuations
• Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities
• Identify commercial risks and implement proactive mitigation plans
• Ensure all commercial documentation is well-maintained and audit-ready

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 20 years of experience in commercial and contract management within the construction or engineering consultancy sector
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction laws
• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and project management software such as Aconex, Candy, or Primavera
• Proven expertise in cost control, procurement, claims management, and negotiations

Preferred Qualifications

• MRICS, PMP, or similar professional commercial/contractual certifications
• Previous experience working within the UAE construction market
