Commercial Loan Officer

Responsibilities

• Prospect new customers and solicit new loans
• Cross-sell banking services to new and existing customers
• Manage a portfolio of loan and depository accounts
• Interview loan applicants and evaluate financial data to establish creditworthiness
• Review and approve or deny loan requests up to pre-determined limits
• Monitor loan repayment activities and manage collections for past-due accounts
• Prepare action memos for management and present credits to the loan committee
• Represent the bank in civic and community organizations

Requirements

• Knowledge of commercial lending procedures
• Knowledge of general banking principles
• Knowledge of sales and marketing practices
• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Proficiency in operating computer terminals and printers

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree
• Prior commercial lending experience
