About the role
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft Surface and Subsurface Use Agreements, ROW/TB Agreements, and Water Purchase and Transport Agreements.
- Consult with surface owners regarding drill site locations, ingress/egress, roads, pits, and water agreements.
- Coordinate survey schedules and accompany field teams to ensure multi-well pads are properly staked.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Midland Basin surface owners, managing relationships within agricultural and rural industries.
- Mitigate landowner complaints and provide land support for road repairs on existing assets.
- Coordinate cleanup efforts for oil and saltwater spills in collaboration with landowners and environmental teams.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety guidelines and requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of surface land experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in drilling location construction, water/ROW acquisition, or surface owner negotiation.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle approximately 40% of the time across various terrains and conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GPS equipment.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with the general public.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold.
