About the role
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft Surface and Subsurface Use Agreements, ROW/TB Agreements, and Water Purchase and Transport Agreements.
- Consult with surface owners regarding drill site locations, ingress/egress, roads, pits, and ROWs.
- Coordinate survey schedules and accompany construction teams to the field to ensure proper staking of multi-well pads.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Midland Basin surface owners, managing relationships within agricultural and rural industries.
- Mitigate complaints and manage land support for road repairs on existing assets.
- Coordinate with Environmental teams regarding oil/saltwater spill cleanups and remediation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety guidelines and requirements for both employees and contractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of surface land experience.
- Upstream oil and gas knowledge.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in drilling location construction, water/ROW acquisition, or surface owner negotiation.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle approximately 40% of the time across various terrains and conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GPS equipment.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with the general public.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold.
