Commercial High Rise & Retail Security Guard

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-visibility patrols by foot, bicycle, or vehicle
• Engage with tenants, visitors, customers, and employees with exceptional customer service
• Identify, report, and follow up on hazards, safety concerns, and property deficiencies
• Assist tenants and merchants with incidents, emergencies, and security concerns
• Report criminal activity and coordinate with law enforcement
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, and AED assistance
• Complete detailed incident reports using site reporting systems
• Manage trespassers and unauthorized individuals safely and professionally
• Monitor security systems and act as the central communication hub
• Coordinate incident response and dispatch security personnel
• Review CCTV footage for investigations and law enforcement requests
• Monitor and manage fire alarm and sprinkler systems

Requirements

• Valid Alberta Security License or ability to obtain one
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Experience using CCTV systems and two-way radios
• Physically capable of completing patrols exceeding 15 km per shift, including stairs
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 20+ lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–4 years of security and life-safety related experience
• Knowledge of fire alarm and life safety systems
• Experience coordinating emergency response activities
• CCTV investigation and evidence review experience
