Commercial Finance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial insights to assist site leadership and operational teams in making value accretive decisions
• Provide business case modelling support for on-site SIB capital and make capital expenditure recommendations
• Empower discipline managers with reporting tools for asset reliability, life cycle management, and total cost of ownership
• Collaborate with disciplines to develop risk registers and provide financial evaluation of mitigation strategies
• Facilitate discussions regarding deviations from plan and identify operational root causes for financial performance
• Perform cost assessments for variance reporting for both capital and operating costs
• Support accurate and reliable forecasting and budgeting processes
• Provide discipline-specific financial reports and analysis to track performance against plan
• Identify commercial improvement opportunities to enable effective partnering

Requirements

• Postgraduate or Tertiary qualifications in Business Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• CA/CPA qualification or currently studying towards one
• Experience dealing with complex commercial finance projects within a large organisation
• Proficiency with integrated ERP systems such as SAP
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for senior stakeholder collaboration
• High level of rigor, initiative, and resourcefulness in problem-solving
• Knowledge of QLD Coal Mining Legislation is desirable
